Yar’Adua/Goodluck ticket is another Obj’s application of “Hands Across the Niger”

Alhaji Umaru Yar’Adua, Olusegun Obasanjo and Jonathan Ebele Goodluck

Installing Katsina State Governor Alhaji Umaru Yar’adua and Bayelsa State Governor Jonathan Ebele Goodluck as next President and Vice President of Nigeria is another shinning example of elder statesman Olusegun Obasanjo’s application of ‘homegrown’ “Hands Across the Niger”.

Nobody will argue with the notion of “Hands Across the Niger”. The problem lies with implementation.

If this ticket could be installed at Aso Rock as conceived, then 3rd term leadership will most likely continue from Ota. Aso Rock will still be on record as the official seat of Nigerian government with Ota being where the deal actually is. This phenomenon (ruling from retirement farm) is not new to African continent. It had been done before and it has a name; it is called ‘Nyerereism’.

Like Baba Sege, or hate him, but when it comes to manufacturing ideas, Obj ‘dey kamkpe’; not tired, nor deficient in any way, shape or form.
