According to news report, Nigeria embattled Vice President, His Excellency Atiku Abubakar, had sought external security cover to return to Nigeria on Sunday from the United States.
According to the news report, " The vice president had, in a briefing to the influential Council of Foreign Relations, raised alarm over his safety, claiming that Abuja was after him because of his opposition to President Olusegun Obasanjo and the government could take steps to harm him”.
If the news report is true, the message here is that when it comes to security of life in Nigeria, it’s simply, “to thy tent, Oh Israel”.
If the Nigeria leadership and elite class, which the Vice President belongs to, had utilized their offices and influence well by establishing a society based on rule of law, there will not be any need for this importation of foreign security into the Nigerian soil to protect Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
If the Nigeria leadership and elite class, which the Vice President Abubakar belongs to, had utilized their powers and influence well to rid the country of various vices such as corruption, embezzlement, excessive greed there will not be any need for this importation of foreign security into the Nigerian soil to protect His Excellency, Atiku Abubakar.
If the Nigeria leadership and elite class, which the Vice President belongs to, had utilized their offices and influence to distribute the resources of this nation to the benefit of the greater masses, those masses will rise and protect them and there will not be any need for this importation of foreign security into the Nigerian soil to protect the Vice President.
How many Nigerians could afford the huge amount involved in securing this invasion force when they believe their lives are in danger? That is the question.
Another question is how long will the invasion, the invading foreign security outfit last?
Nigeria, We hail thee!!!
